"Zwarte Zee" is a feature film by director Jorien van Nes and producer Stiennette Bosklopper of Circe Films. Jan Schermer is Sound Designer on the film. Dean Humphreys is an award winning Sound Designer, Sound Recordist and Sound Supervisor, who has worked extensively within both the European and American Film, Television and Games industries. Dean started his career at Twickenham Studios, working in the Audio Department, and progressed to working with many of the world’s leading directors, including Ridley Scott, Luc Besson, Roman Polanski, Alexander Witt and Franco Zeffirelli. He has been the sound supervisor or rerecording mixer for major television series such as ‘Kingdom’ (with Stephen Fry) and ‘Primeval’, in addition to films including ‘The Pianist’ (for which he won a César award), ‘Tea with Mussolini’, ‘Seven Years in Tibet’ and ‘The Hide’. Dean’s filmography numbers over a hundred titles, and he continues to work with leading film and TV producers. He now runs his own studio and post production facility ‘Crossfade’, based in Twickenham studios in London. Dean was appointed Visiting Professor in the Entertainment Technology Field Group in 2010. He contributes extensively to the group in the School of Computing and Communications, by offering several master-class workshops and presentations each year to the students across the undergraduate programme. Monday October 1st 2012 'New Kids Nitro' wins comedy price in Texas The dutch comedy New Kids Nitro has won the price for best comedy at the American filmfestival Fantastic Fest in Austin. This was made public by Eyeworks producer Reinout Oerlemans on thursday. The festival, held in the Texan capital, is leading in genre films. Directors and writers Steffen Haars and Flip van der Kuyl received the price wednesdaynight. 'Plan C' wins in US The dutch crime comedy Plan C has won the price for best screenplay at the Fantastic Fest Festival in Austin. Director Max Porcelijn received the price tuesdaynight in the Texan capital, announced distributor A-Film. Fantastic Fest is the biggest genrefilmfestival of North-America. 'The is very special,' says producer Sander Verdonk. 'This is the first festival that showed Plan C and we won immediately!'. 'De Zilveren Krulstaart', OVERSPEL an initiative of the Network Scriptwriters, is the only professional award for screenplays; the winners are chosen by colleague-scriptwriters. As of 1-1-11 the sounddesign/mixing studios Warnier Studio and Posta are merging.
Sunday January 23rd 2011 The new company is called ‘WARNIER POSTA sound for picture’. Peter Warnier (the winner of the Golden Calf for the best sounddesign in 2010) and Jan Schermer (winner of the Golden Calf for the best sounddesign in 2009) are combining their talents and, together with Christan Muiser (in-house producer) the result is a very experienced team. As well as Dutch feature films, documentaries, TV drama & new media, WarnierPosta is focusing on international (co)productions. Both companies have been responsible for the sounddesign/mixing of for instance the films Karakter, Wild Mussels, New Kids: Turbo, Schemer, Alles is liefde, Silent Army, Hunting & Zn, The Last Days of Emma Blank, Nothing Personal, RU There, Sint and the TV drama series Pleidooi, Oud Geld, In Therapy and Penoza. Provisionally, the facilities in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and De Rijp will continue, but a new venue is being sought in Amsterdam where all facilities can be brought together. |
